I reveal 10 ways I currently generate passive income online. Been doing this since 2008 after getting laid off, and the idea of generating income without directly trading time for dollars is real and is possible, however passive income online does not happen overnight, and anything or anyone that tells you otherwise is lying. It takes work, but it’s absolutely worth the effort.
For each passive income method I share here, I also tell you how you can started (your literal first step), as well as the biggest mistake I personally made so that you can get over that hump earlier in your journey.
How to Really Make Passive Income Online
Referral programs, also known as affiliate programs, reward you for working well with others.
It’s common for affiliate programs to be commission-based. Affiliate programs provide an excellent way to generate passive income. You earn money by referring customers to a company’s product or service. There’s no extra work involved, so it’s easy to make money.
As a result of recommending the site to your visitors, you will receive a commission for any sales they make.
Thus, the merchant benefits. If you already have a successful website, you can run an affiliate program from it. Otherwise, you can build a site just to promote a particular product. As long as it brings in more cash than it should, you’re fine if you build it or run it.
One of these strategies is bound to make sense for you and your personality type, so watch ’til the end and see which one strikes you as the most interest and viable option.

@Tonemind Good question. I’m focused on the long haul, meaning I plan to launch my career as an author with the first book of this series. Therefore, I realize I may not make a lot of money on this first book, but it’s needed to build my fanbase/audience. My plan is to make more money with each published book in this series with a growing readership. That’s a very simplified version of my plan, which I’ve developed by learning from authors entrepreneurs who are very successful in this space. Over the past 12 years, I’ve also been following and studying the book publishing industry (Traditional and Independent). As a result, I’ve learned a lot about reaching readers and the business of marketing and selling books. However, I’m aware I will learn the real lessons once I finally publish, which is what excites me the most! 🙂
Hi Pat, I would love to hear more about building a paid membership community. With all the free Facebook groups and information online, getting people to pay to be a member of a community seems like the challenge. I understand you need to offer something of real value, but as you said in this video, your community is not where they go for the content, it’s where they go for the interactions. I’m assuming this biggest selling point for your community is the access to you personally and access to your team who can answer specific questions a member may have?
You are one of the few channels of which I watch the same video multiple times over to make sure I heard all the information correctly.

Hi Pat, great video. I was looking at the SPI application and since my business is just an idea I don’t think it’s a good fit for me.
